Last Thursday, I Skyped with Mr. Browne’s fourth and fifth graders, who hail from Lucknow, Ontario, very near the Canadian shores of Lake Huron. We had a rollicking discussion about Poop Happened, the life of a writer, and how awesome we think SpongeBob is. The kids had lots of good questions, as did their teacher. Thanks to Jean Johnston, the educational assistant, for setting it up.
I forgot to mention to them that I’ve been to Ontario several times. When I was in high school, growing up in Burlington, Vermont, I participated every year in the “Burlington International Games” (for track and basketball). Burlington, Ontario vs Burlington, Vermont. We alternated cities each year. It was a highlight of my year.
Thanks again, fourth and fifth graders, and have a great summer vacation!
