I blogged here about the late-nineteenth-century fashion for frilly boy clothes, inspired by Little Lord Fauntleroy. As a follow-up: here’s an ad I found in an 1898 “Spring and Summer Catalog,” featuring shirts for boys. The Fauntleroy fashion was alive and well, as you can see from those lacy numbers in the middle of the page. Oof.
