On Saturday, I participated in the Southwestern Connecticut Youth Book Expo at the Shelton, Connecticut library. Organized by the indefatigable and fantastic ambassador for kid lit, indie bookseller Dorothy Sim-Broder from Written Words Bookstore, and also by director of the library, Shawn Fields, it was a fantastic day of book signing, face painting, magicians, and lots and lots of kids.
It was fun to hang out with my kidlit buddies, Karen Romano Young
and Dana Meachen Rau
and Lynda Mullaly Hunt.
I sat at a table next to Rosemary Wells, so our signing area had a lot of traffic. I sold out of my books–thanks, Rosemary!
My favorite display at the library was this one.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love librarians.
